Instructions for using your NMHU Student E-mail Account for the first time


  • You have changed you password so it is not your date of birth.

  • You will use that new password and your username or email address to access your student E-mail account.

  • When you click on continue below you will see a popup similar to this where you enter your full email address and password.

  • Caution: Never save your password on a public computer!

  • When you first use your student email on Office365 for education it will ask you for a current time zone and if you want accessibility features. For New Mexico you want to select (UTC-07:00) Mountain Time (US & Canada). You can change that setting from your email by going to Settings (gear icon in upper right corner of screen) > Options > settings > regional > Current time zone
